Our Story
Moker was founded by Jean Liu in 2005 with a vision to revolutionize reading education in China. First a mother and also a successful internet executive, Jean is passionate about the ways that new technology can help parents around the world nurture their children. She recruited animators from Disney, editors from leading magazine and engineers from Yahoo and Sina.com, a technological dream team.
Moker operates out of the Zhangjiang High Tech Park in Shanghai with a team of more than fifty employees. Starting out with a focus on China, in 2008 Moker decided that it would help children around the world. Taking its existing library with hundreds of publications, Moker is adapting its reading education system for the global market.
In early 2008 Moker animated its first English-language title, “Cloud Bread” and is actively looking for more partners in the publishing industry who want to make their books accessible through the internet. Moker wants to help publishers promote their existing books while generating revenue through leverage their existing content across new channels while boosting sales through traditional channels.
